Get To Know Me
In-house, at agencies, and freelancing for over 15 years, I’ve grown to recognize that teams do not rise to the level of their goals; they rest at the level of their systems. My aim in life is to help mission-driven organizations create an intentionally designed customer engagement approach, leveling up to achieve their business goals.
I have tailored discovery plans for over 60 brands in 20+ industries. The through-line for my clients? Most organizations are, frankly, all over the place. They struggle to consistently, meaningfully engage with customers, leading to incoherent and sub-par experiences to the detriment of their brand. In the process of designing and facilitating hundreds of workshops, I have helped organizations examine their invisible, built-in silos and internal blockers, prioritizing which questions to answer and which problems to solve first, second, and third.
UX trained, naturally curious, and unsettled by what I consider man-made problems, I pinpoint systematic improvements to internal ways of working that aren't working. My best work is with teams that know that they need rigor and focus to show up correctly along the customer journey; and recognize the power of upstream problems, which are not always obvious or easy to address. My work reduces overwhelm: freeing teams to think, feel, and work differently to serve their customers better.
In my spare time, I study communication breakdowns which entertain me to no end. And I love to reverse engineer the products in the As Seen on TV aisle at Walgreens — it is fascinating what problems some humans choose to solve. My volunteer efforts include my board membership for Resilience (formally Rape Victims Advocates), where I lead the Strategy team, and tutoring a CPS kid named Mason, who teaches me something every week. Oh, and I grew an inch in my 40th year, to which I credit my Pilates teacher Gloria.
